India’s 2011 World Cup Cricket Squad with Player Achievements

30 players were initially listed to each World Cup cricket squad. This is then cut in half to 15. Below you will find the 15 Indian players that made the grade in the 2011 Cricket World Cup. India were of course the 2011 World Cup Champions, but as well as this some of their players achieved highly impressive achievements in the tournament. The achievements of highest number of runs and highest number of wickets may have been aided by India playing the most number of matches alongside Sri Lanka with 9, but no one can questions the credentials of Yuvraj Singh who was deservedly crowned “Man of the Tournament”. Sachin Tendulkar = Sachin Tendulkar scored the second highest number of runs in the tournament with a total of 482. He was beaten by Sri Lanka’s Tillakaratne Dilshan who reached the 500.

Virender Sehwag (Vice Captain) = Virender Sehwag achieved the highest score by any batsman in a single innings at this tournament with a score of 175.

Yusuf Pathan

Yuvraj Singh = Yuvraj Singh was crowned the “Man of the Tournament”. Yuvraj Singh also won the most player of the match awards with 4.

Zaheer Khan = Zaheer Khan took the second highest number of wickets in the tournament with 21. Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi also took 21, but he played one less match.
